Scuze me ma'am, do you know how fast you were going?

Ok, the cop didn't say that but I did get pulled over for speeding today. With my 90 year mother in tow. And I'm glad he didn't ask because I was going faster than he clocked me. I'd glanced at my speedometer just as I saw him standing there with the radar gun. I'd obliviously thought I was travelling along with the rest of the traffic but apparently I was going faster. oops.

I suppose I might have been unconsciously trying to make up time as we were late for our appointment to see a retirement place.

He asks if I've had any speeding tickets lately.

No, not for years and years.

He says if that's the case, then he'll reduce it.

And he did. Considerably. A fairly cheap fine at $50 and no demerits. (My last one was $300 and 3 demerits - I was the same amount over this time)

I said:

Thank you! I love you!

And made his day. - Hell, he'd made mine by not slapping me with what he could have.

But maybe I am a little fast in hindsight.

Later, my mother and I were having lunch and she's telling me about her brother's room at his retirement place. She says it's a very large room. He can even fit his organ in there.

"The one you play." she says doing piano fingers - and laughs because of her naughty thoughts.
Cracked me up.

Cracked me up too :-) That and you telling the cop you loved him . . . I'm always guaranteed a laugh here. Thanks.

Your Mom is adorable and on the ball.

It scares me to try and keep up with traffic - those idiots are going 20 -25 mph over the speed limit. I'll stay in the right lane and go 5 mph over tyvm. It is still 75 -80 mph anyway. eek.

Glad the cop was so cool. I hope if I ever get stopped I get the same consideration - my last ticket was when Squirrel was an infant - two decades anyone? [gawd I'm old. heehee]

Your mother cracked me up! :D

Glad to know you can still flirt yourself out of a huge fine. I, on the other hand, can't get away with anything these days. Apparently, I gotta pretty up more before I head out of the house! I was ticked last month for making an illegal (temporarily illegal) left turn near a construction site...me and 50 other cars! It was horrible...and the cop that stopped me was an idiot. He talked to me very slowly in Spanglish (moovo el carro forward)...and I gave him a look his gun couldn't compete with. What an asshole!
